March 22nd, 2023
Welcome gathering for 2023 and intro to this year’s events. Speaker Faith and Michael Shah.

Faith is called a citizen scientist & amateur by actual experts and considers herself a true Plant Nerd. Plants, trees & pollinators! Why so crucial for our birds and insects? Faith will share her knowledge and provide her favorite catalog to all. She likes to focus on plants that will look nice in Rural & Suburban settings so that people can become more familiar with the concept of
creating food & habitat as well a pretty garden. Faith & her husband, Michael, retired in 2013 and moved here to work with Wild Ones and Audubon. They successfully opposed the High Voltage Power Line and won! This was the first time she had heard of the concept of a native plant. As a pro bono lobbyist for Native Plants her mission is to encourage homeowners & ESPECIALLY developers to stop taking valuable food & habitat in the form of trees to avoid large sterile lawns that do not feed the insects.
